Since Internode have made mention that they will be wholesaling from Optus at some point soon you may notice an expansion of coverage on this website.

If Internode announced wholesale over Optus now, they would increase their exchange count from 93 to 399 (after removing duplicate exchanges).

Yeah, that's true. Their Annex M rocks.
Me wonders why the other ISP's have been slow to jump on the Annex M boat.

I would think it would be to do with the reduced download. Annex M really suits the small business customers, but not residential and large business.

Yeah maybe, though when I was running Annex M, I was getting a sync speed of 23000/22000 so it didn't really knock much off. Mind you I'm fairly close to the exchange (~700m line length).

If you are lucky enough to be that close. At my previous place I was 2.3KM from the exchange and i lost 3mbit down to gain 1mbit up (which was 33% of the downspeed).

Time will tell if annex M will be available on Node through Optus. I wouldn't think it would, but I could be wrong.

Actually 'Node got it ratified in Australia.
IIRC 'Node is the only ISP selling it to the Joe Blows, I think one other is selling under a more serious sorta business plan. (going by memory here, and that's bad lol)

Here's an interesting thread discussing Annex M and who's supplying it.
