I live in toowoomba about 1 and a half hours drive west of Brisbane and its 2nd biggest inland city its just over 100k, i am wondering why not more providers decide to offer adsl2 here? The exchange name is TOBF and can be found at http://www.adsl2exchanges.com.au/viewexchange.php?Exchange=TOBF .So far there are only Optus and telstra resellers. I just dont see why there not more?

That would be your answer, How do the providers get the data from Toowoomba to Brisbane? The only option for backhaul would be Telstra or Optus. Atleast you have ADSL2+ :) Imagine how many places along the way don't have any ADSL2+.

I should point out that there is atleast 4 exchanges in Toowoomba, which means that your 100k population is really 25k per exchange roughly.

Chime (iiNet) have it listed as proposed, so you might get another one there. What provider is it that you want?

long shot but i wouldve thought agile would stick its foot in as there a few bandwidth intensive business here and there are more schools here then most cities not to mention here is a USQ uni campus as well as 2 tafe colleges lol so yeah...

Toowoomba is still considered a town actually not a city by the government even tho it is actually called "The garden CITY" lol so i would've thought that logically such population automatically be worthy of better service. etc etc

My opinion anyway

To cover the whole area they have to have build 4 exchanges, and get backhaul from either Telstra or Optus. I would say it could be on their next round of exchanges.

Completely agree with you, but only so many can be done at once. I am a bit surprised that iiNet/Chime and TPG aren't there (yet).

The adsl2 is amazing. I like to use it and I saw a lot of people are happy to use it. Such companies are good in providing the best services so that we will face no issue. I read many essay on time reviews to learn about such amazing services that are good to use.
