I will probably be making a new section hopefully soon about what features each modem has. What is the main things you look for when buying a modem? |

What would be invaluable for many people is a detailed explanation of the ADSL parameters each modem provides to report on your current line sync speed i.e what does attenuation mean and why is it important, SNR ratio, coding gain etc. Many people are easily misled into believing that the theoretical speeds advertised by providers is what will be delivered to them and want to know if the speed they are achieving is to be expected with their stats or what they can do to improve them if possible. |

Especially in the past when providers listed it as 24,000/1000. Now they are required to say "up to". |
