I am having desperately poor speeds on my wireless connection in Camp Hill Qld with iinet. These are in the region of 30 - 80 kbps download. I am using latest Belkin modem. If the line is the problem what options do I have as we have a telstra line - can this be changed or will another provider still use telstra lines? I am also out of contract committment with iinet so can switch providers easily. I am a bit of a newbie at this so any help would be welcomed. Thanks Brissieboy |

Hi Brissieboy, Are you noticing any issues with your home landline? Noisy or crackly calls? If so, this may be a contributing factor. You may wish to lodge a fault on your landline and this will fix your ADSL connection (in most cases). Otherwise you may wish to do some simple troubleshooting on your Broadband connection, by disconnecting all devices plugged into the telephone line (on all sockets). Then plug the modem in directly to the first socket, with a short telephone cable less than 2 metres. Connect it up and see if you notice a speed change. If you do, it is something that is normally plugged into the line which is interferring. I hope this helps. Regards, Anthony ADSL2Exchanges |
