Are you noticing any issues with your home landline? Noisy or crackly calls? If so, this may be a contributing factor. You may wish to lodge a fault on your landline and this will fix your ADSL connection (in most cases).
Otherwise you may wish to do some simple troubleshooting on your Broadband connection, by disconnecting all devices plugged into the telephone line (on all sockets). Then plug the modem in directly to the first socket, with a short telephone cable less than 2 metres. Connect it up and see if you notice a speed change. If you do, it is something that is normally plugged into the line which is interferring.
